The PowerBook G4:
This laptop was pretty expensive when it first came out and for good reasons. Apple used titanium in the G4 400mhz model to make the laptop a lot lighter than comparable laptops at the time while sporting 15 to 17 inch screens. But they made sure the lighter weight didn't effect the laptop's capability. In fact, the G4 PowerBook was considered as powerful as a regular desktop computer.
For a used Apple laptop, this is one of the smartest buys. Apple also produced an "aluminum" G4, which was even lighter and still as powerful.

MacBook and MacBook Pro:
When the MacBooks were released they had the best quality available in a laptop and had the performance speed to match. Apple switched to the CoreDuo CPUs for the MacBooks and the speed and capacity were boosted, while the price was held to more reasonable levels than the TitaniumG4s. Still expensive, but they came from the factory better equipped than other laptops at the time.
If you're considering a well-equipped, used Apple laptop, you should know the MacBooks are the cream of the crop.

I have a powerbook duo 120c with a bad motherboard. I think my hard drive is still good. WHAT POWERBOOK WILL MY HARD DRIVE WORK IN IF I CAN’T REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MOTHERBOARD.
